Things to Do in Cherry Grove Beach

Last reviewed: August 13, 2026. Cherry Grove activities range from beach days and pier fishing to marsh paddling, nature walks, dining, and short outings elsewhere in North Myrtle Beach. Hours, parking rules, fees, weather, tides, and operator availability can change; use the official links below before leaving.

Beach access, parking, and safety

North Myrtle Beach maintains more than 240 beach accesses and more than 50 public parking locations. Use the City’s beach-access and amenities page to find restrooms, accessible access, and parking near your destination.

The 2026 paid-parking season runs March 1 through October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The City currently lists a standard rate of $4 per hour and $2 per hour at the Seaview Lot. Read the City’s current parking FAQs because rates and rules can change.

Before swimming, check lifeguard flags and conditions. The City recommends swimming near a lifeguard, never swimming alone, and swimming parallel to shore if caught in a rip current. See the City’s beach-safety tips and this site’s current Beach Laws guide.

Cherry Grove Fishing Pier

Visitors can walk the pier, fish with their own equipment, or rent gear under the pier operator’s current rules. Prices, hours, weather closures, and restaurant service can change. Read the updated Cherry Grove Fishing Pier guide and confirm same-day details on the pier’s official site.

Cherry Grove marsh, boat ramp, and kayaking

Cherry Grove Park & Boat Ramp is at 413 53rd Avenue North. The City lists a two-lane boat launch, kayak launch, fishing pier, fish-cleaning station, floating dock, picnic shelter, restrooms, and access to Heritage Shores Nature Preserve. Visitor parking is paid from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; read the official boat-ramp page for current instructions.

Current operators offering Cherry Grove or nearby kayak and paddleboard trips include Great Escapes Kayak Expeditions, J & L Kayaking, and Kokopelli Surf Camp. Reserve directly and confirm the meeting point, tide, weather policy, age/ability requirements, personal-flotation equipment, and whether the trip is guided.

Fishing charters

Reel Action Fishing Charters currently lists private family fishing trips and eco-tours from 2201 Little River Neck Road, with booking by phone at 843-222-3138. It is one current option, not an exclusive recommendation. Confirm the boat, trip type, maximum party size, weather policy, what is included, and the exact departure location before paying.

Cherry Grove Oceanfront Park

2108 North Ocean Boulevard, at 22nd Avenue North. The City lists accessible beach access, restrooms, showers, lawn and picnic space, swings, and benches. On-site parking is limited to two accessible spaces; other public parking is near the Sea Mountain street end. See the official park page before planning an event or assuming parking is available.

Restaurants, golf, and shopping

Beach weddings

North Myrtle Beach requires a permit for beach weddings and vow renewals. Vendor licensing, setup limits, beach access, and other rules apply. Use the City’s Beach Weddings page and current application instead of relying on an unverified vendor recommendation. A permit does not reserve a private section of public beach.

Day trips

For a longer outing, official visitor information is available for the Battleship North Carolina and Bellamy Mansion in Wilmington, and for Brookgreen Gardens and Atalaya at Huntington Beach State Park south of Myrtle Beach. These are outside Cherry Grove; check admission, hours, timed tickets, closures, and traffic before departing.
